Print-positive programme for ANP's conference

Director of The Hindu publisher Kasturi & Sons Kasturi Balaji keynotes at the ASEAN Newspaper Printers conference in Bangkok next week.

After presenting the opening address at the WAN-Ifra India conference in Mumbai this week, he will discuss 'Emerging business models for newspaper printers.

Kasturi Balaji is chairman of WAN-Ifra's World Printers Forum and its South Asia committee.

The programme at the Intercontinental Hotel in Bangkok starts with a golf day on Monday. A full programme across Tuesday and Wednesday includes two plant tours - to Matichon and the Bangkok Post - and a welcome dinner.

Among other speakers are Snehasis Roy, associate vice president for manufacturing at India's ABP (Harvesting lower GSM newsprint, and Print innovation at ABP), Kodak's SEA channel manager Andrei Andrievsky and regional sales and marketing director for enterprise inkjet Kenneth Koe, and WAN-Ifra research manager Anand Srinivasan (Newspaper quality standardisation).

ANP chairman Andy Budiman, who is deputy director at Gramedia in Indonesia, will talk about the business opportunity of ASEAN print market).

From Malaysia's Star Media Group, technical services manager Anandan Thangasamy will talk about the print complexities of the Mountain Dew advertising campaign, and Adi Sarif Mohamed Anuar, production and operation manager at the New Straits Times Press will talk about changes at the Kuala Lumpur-based publisher.
