The PrintCity alliance is making its ‘Connection of competence book’ – which includes an introduction to the VAPoN (Value Added Printing of Newspapers) project – available free via its website.
The 72-page book is an overview of activities, projects and membership, and includes contributions from all the members which have contributed to it over the past ten years, together with a directory.
Introductions come from Jussi Pesonen, president and chief executive of UPM-Kymmene, Sun Chemical president and chief executive Rudi Lenz, and manroland chairman Gerd Finkbeiner.
Other focus areas include:
• sustainability, energy and environment;
• improved energy efficiency for web presses;
• ‘print meets electronics’ on the convergence of technologies;
• workflow integration and networking;
as well as the secrets of ‘value added’; digital transpromo printing; value-added UV for sheetfed; brand protection, and best practice for food packaging.
PrintCity says all internet orders for the book are free of charge. Go to www.printcity.de/shop or get a copy from an alliance member (of which a list is at http://www.printcity.de/index.php?site_id=162).
