Goss International has bought the assets of Vits Print GmbH, the company with which it developed sheeting capabilities of its M-600 Folia press.

The company says the acquisition adds industry-leading sheeting and specialised finishing components to its portfolio. Vits Print Rotocut sheeters and Jet Web finishing products – including coaters, diecutters, prefolders and plow stations – will be made at Goss’s Contiweb facility in Boxmeer, The Netherlands. This facility already manufactures auxiliary components including splicers, pasters and heatset dryers for web-offset presses.

Goss chief executive Jochen Meissner says Vits is the technology and market leader for high-speed sheeters as well as in-line and off-line finishing systems: “This sensible expansion of our core product range demonstrates our long-term focus and our commitment to providing printers with more complete, integrated web offset solutions,” he says.

Auxiliary components are offered for Goss and other press systems for web-offset, gravure and flexo, including packaging and direct mail.

Vits-America, based in Blauvelt, New York, is not part of the acquisition, but they will market and support the Vits Print products in the USA, while Goss International’s worldwide network looks after the rest of the world.

Goss Contiweb division managing director Bert Schoonderbeek says the team in Boxmeer can support web printers with the most advanced auxiliary components in the world, including the company’s Ecocool and Ecoset dryers and Contiweb pasters: “We look forward to incorporating the equally strong Vits Print high-speed sheeting and specialised finishing products,” he says.

The Boxmeer facility is 120 km from Vits Print’s headquarters in Langenfeld, Germany, aiding the transition of manufacturing operations and expertise, with key personnel continuing to support customers from the Langenfeld and Ravenstein sites.
