manroland Australasia is to take over local sales for German mailing systems manufacturer Böwe Systec, which is also owned by the Possehl Group.
The move follows a similar sales and service deal with manroland India, which is also owned by Possehl.
Managing director of a manroland Australasia Steve Dunwell says he will visit Böwe – which like MRA parent manroland web systems, is also based in Augsburg, Germany – in the middle of January to finalise an agreement.
Established in 1945 by Max Böhler and Ferdinand Weber – who later abbreviated the company name – Böwe makes a broad range of systems used by transpromo printers and mailing houses.
The company was an exhibitor at DRUPA this year, where it unveiled a new compact inserting system capable of handling 26,000 envelopes an hour. With HP, it has developed a system for printing envelopes – including those which have already been filled – using HP’s C500 print module.
