Register and colour systems developer QI Press Controls says it will go after QuadTech for costs after the US company dropped its case on an alleged patent infringement.

QuadTech had announced in a court filing that it was dropping the case over its '577 patent by QIPC's image-based Intelligent Density System (IDS).

In a response on March 14, QIPC says it wants to recover costs and attorney's fees. It is also seeking discovery of information QuadTech had when it filed the case.

The company says the patent describes a colour register system, while IDS is a colour control system.
