Baldwin has what it says is an excellent start to its financial year in Japan with a US$1.5 million order from Chunichi Simbun through its subsidiary Baldwin Japan. Baldwin’s spray dampening will be fitted during June and December 2009 to a new Mitsubishi Diamondstar at the company’s Gifu plant. Says Baldwin president and chief executive Karl Puehringer, “The Japanese newspaper industry continues to invest in new presses and upgrades to existing press lines in order to obtain more colour capacity, while reducing paper waste and labour requirements. “Our extensive newspaper and semi-commercial product portfolio has proved to be a good fit with what the newspaper market in Japan is looking for.”
