After installing ppi Media’s ads and planning software, Kenyan publishing group Standard Group is following with an entire prepress workflow.

The integrated production workflow for print products follows orders for planning and production as well as the ad workflow and editorial in October last year.

ppi Media's output management system OM becomes central, receiving

all relevant planning and production information for print publication from PlanPag at the group in Nairobi. Individual tabloid pages in PDF format that OM receives from production are automatically imposed on double-truck plates by means of page pairing. Bending information on the plate assists with the sorting. In its load balancing and “first needed, first out” principle, with the ppi system integrating two Screen thermal platesetters and two RIPs in the workflow.

ProofStation software including five clients, the OM portal and jobEntry modules were also ordered.

Standard chief executive Sam Shollei is slated to speak at ppi’s 2014 Open Days.
