Agfa says Danish regional newspaper publisher Sjællandske Medier is saving up to seven per cent more startup waste through using optimised fountain solution.
The 143-year-old company is based in the island of Zealand in south-east Denmark, and employs 500 people on four daily newspapers, 32 weeklies and other media interests.
A move to Agfa’s Anturafount CS1 as a match for the N94-VCF plates in use followed a fountain quality assessment and analysis of six water samples. The company says its f-IQA assessment is one of six modules which it plans to release.
The change of fount has helped keep the blankets clean while printing and reduced our start-up paper waste by another 5-7 per cent, factory manager Niels Grinsted says.
