Transcontinental Transmag is installing Nela’s Vision register, punchbending and plate inspection systems for its new press project in Montreal, Canada. The system serves three platesetters, with plates transported to a quiet room adjoining the press consoles under the control of Nela’s NPS barcode and page tracking software. Plates destined for the upper press deck will be navigated by a plate lift onto a multi-bin plate stacking system positioned next to the press units.
Nela USA president David Klein says the system will allow Transcontinental to maximise plate throughput and quality and offers a more efficient way of plate handling. Installation will start in December.
And at the ‘Seattle Times’ Nela is installing two Evolution vision punch benders to handle plates from two Krause LS Jet CTP devices. A plate sorting system with 54 single-wide bins will sort the plates based on a custom configuration, and Nela’s Status centre will monitor the system from the CTP to processors, benders and sorting.
