]Kodak has disclosed details of its first Prosper 6000C adopter, a US-based commercial and direct mail printer.
Minneapolis-based Japs-Olson is a 107-year-old family company with a history of technology innovation and along relationship with Kodak. It started installing the company’s Versamark digital printing systems in 2006, teaming inkjet presses with inkjet imprinting on its mostly Goss heatset print and inline finishing systems.
Kodak says Japs-Olson has been part of its beta testing programme to push the 300 metres/minute colour inkjet web to performance limits and test the potential of innovations in transport, drying, writing systems and advanced press management technology.
Company president Michael Murphy believes the only way to ensure long-term success in printing is to deliver the best quality while being “laser-focused” on productivity and efficiency: “As we have become familiar with the Prosper 6000C, we are certain that the future of printing will be tied to this leading innovative product family,” he says.
Japs-Olson has integrated digital and inkjet technology for several years to produce targeted and personalised direct mail. One of the USA’s ten largest commercial and direct mail printers, it has a range of equipment including three Goss Sunday AT presses equipped with Prosper S10 and S20 imprinting heads and capable of non-stop version changes.
Kodak digital printing and enterprise president Doug Edwards says “exceptional quality standards” make the company “the perfect testing ground for a product that aspires to be the best in quality, productivity and sound economics”.
