A new Ferag MiniSert at Theiler Druck in Switzerland provides “just enough” automation.
At the fourth generation family business, the mailroom upgrade follows an investment last year new printing technology.
Now 13,500 newspapers are assembled with the new system adding two inserts to a main product, and immediately inkjet addressing about 2500 of them for subscribers.
Manual work has been replaced and the new system provides reliable, stable production at night. The operating concept is also very welcome with staff, used to the manual work, says publisher Philip Theiler. “Time pressure is high, and the personnel must be able to rely on their equipment,” he says.
