Kasturi Balaji will present findings from his report on newsprint waste management at the inaugural World Printers Forum conference next month.

The new Newsprint waste management report was written for WAN-Ifra by Balaji, director of Indian publishing giant Kasturi & Sons, which publishes The Hindu.

The conference – from October 15-16 – begins on the final day of the World Publishing Expo in Amsterdam (October 13-15).

“Newsprint by far is the costliest material that newspapers use,” says Balaji. “Experience shows that a sharp focus on the efficient use of newsprint has a dramatic positive impact on the efficiency of the whole production process.”

In addition, the inaugural conference will examine innovations in print from around the world, how to make a printing plant into an independent profit centre, savings from "going green", and latest developments (and cost calculations) in digital printing.
