Screen has pulled its inkjet web from May's PrintEx show with the availability of a hot new digital label press it will show running.
The Truepress Jet L350UV will be shown at the Sydney trade event, rushed in from Japan in response to greater interest in digital label production than high volume inkjet for transactional, direct mail and book printing.
The move follows the first Australian order for the label press. Screen managing director Peter Scott the first L350UV installation is underway following the undisclosed customer running live jobs on a demonstration machine.
In order to make the PrintEx build-up deadline, Screen is sending an engineer with the UV label press, which has a 350mm maximum web width and runs at up to 50 metres per minute.
