Bangalore-based printer Geetanjali Graphics is installing a KBA Compacta 215 press, acquired from a South African printer via GWS Printing Systems of The Netherlands.

The 578mm cut off heatset press extends production capacity in an ever-growing Indian market.

The supplier's Fintan Planting described the press as "the perfect fit" for Geetanjali.

"This quality printer was looking for a machine with specific folding options to cater their market and we found them the right press at the right budget," he says.

The high speed 16-page commercial press has now been dismantled at its current location in Cape Town, with project partner a technical team from manroland Southern Africa taking care of this as well as packing and transport to India.

manroland SA managing director Daniel Constandse says the company enjoys a long-standing relationship with GWS. "We're pleased to have worked together and hope Geetanjali Graphics will enjoy their new press for many years to come."

The KBA C 215 is expected to arrive in India in the last week of July.
