Goss International has started installation of the 96-page web offset press at Mazzucchelli in Seriate, Italy, following shipping in January.

With a 2860 mm web width, the Sunday 5000 system – the world’s first 96-page press – uses Goss’s gapless blanket technology, which minimises vibrations associated with blanket gaps, and allows high speeds and excellent print quality to be maintained with the wider cylinder configuration.

Goss first announced that it would develop the Sunday 5000 press in October 2007. The 2860 mm web width allows 96 full A4 magazine pages to be printed per cylinder revolution at up to 40,000 impressions per hour.

Installation of the first press at Mazzucchelli is due to be complete in March.
