Shepparton News pubisher McPherson Media Group is upgrading circulation management with Newscycle.

Claimed to be the oldest family-owned newspaper group in Australasia, McPherson Media Group - centred in Australia's soft fruit and dairy heartland - publishes the daily newspaper and 12 weekly, biweekly and triweekly publications throughout Victoria and New South Wales, Australia.

The browser-based CirculationPro solution will be supplied enterprise-wide under a long-term contract. It will replace several outside agencies that managed its circulation and distribution processes, giving McPherson full control over subscription management and distribution operations. It also provides tools to create new revenue opportunities by capturing audience data it will use in targeted marketing campaigns.

Group IT manager Glenn James says an attraction was the real-time reporting tools and ability to deliver specific audience data: "Previously, we had no view of our customers," he says.

"All of our audience information was sitting with third-party agencies and we haven't had access to it. We wanted to bring the subscriptions in-house to ensure we have control of the information and to look for new revenue streams."

• A new version v2014.2 of Newscycle Circulation adds subscriber and distributor self-service features, and extends CRM capabilities.

Features enable users to bill subscribers in advance for premium-day deliveries, deliver email templates for messages to customers and provide a single sign-on option.
