Publishers in Canada and Germany are the latest to take on ppi Media's advertising technology.

Toronto Star will use PlanPag planning software for its own and Metro free daily newspapers, while Madsack Media Group plans to team ppi Media's AdX solution with GRZ's VI&VA ad booking system.

The Toronto Star will also use AdPag to paginate classified ads. The country's largest daily newspaper is read in print and online by more than three million readers weekly, while the Metro free daily newspapers are published in Toronto, Halifax, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

PlanPag has been in use at Metro English Canada since September, and will be introduced at the Star in the first quarter of next year, with the ppi solutions being connected a Lineup AdPoint ad booking system.

At existing customer Madsack Media, the combination of AdX and Vi&VA will deliver a new, front-to-back solution to book and place ads across all media, with ppi's PlanPag planning system also part of the programme.

Consultants will be able to book ads directly and place them immediately, with customers also able to preview ads on the spot, as a result of the combination of AdX and the SAP-based VI&VA system, which is the direct result of a new partnership between ppi Media and GRZ.

Madsack - which has 13 locations in nine states - will be using the ad solution for print publications and later expanding across digital channels. It publishes 15 regional daily editions, produces 32 free papers and is also active in online and mobile content, TV and postal services.
