Women in media are celebrated at a luncheon during the World Publishing Expo in Frankfurt next week.

The Women in Media Luncheon on October 30 is free to attendees, and provides an opportunity to hear personal stories of mentoring and sponsoring from top women in the media industry.

“They'll share with you their experiences climbing the corporate ladder and we encourage you to ask questions, reflect and discover new inspiring ways for upward advancement,” says WAN-Ifra deputy director Larry Kilman.

Anne Simon (above left) of Soroptimist International of Europe will moderate a panel which also includes Carla Buzasi, editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post UK and AOL UK, and Angela Cullen, bureau chief for Bloomberg News in Germany.

Buzasi (centre) oversees a team of 30 editors and staff writers, along with a pool of more than 4000 contributing bloggers, collectively producing hundreds of news articles, blogs and features each week.

Named editor of the year at the 2012 Online Media Awards, and media innovator of the year at the 2012 British Media Awards, she has written for publications including Vogue, The Guardian, Glamour, Marie Claire and the Metro, and makes regular appearances on some of the UK's leading TV programmes including The Andrew Marr Show (BBC One), Lorraine (ITV1) and Sky News.

Simon (above right) is the executive director of Soroptimist International of Europe, which has 100,000 members in 125 counties and is the largest worldwide service organisation of professional women.

Cullen joined Bloomberg's Frankfurt bureau in 2005 after reporting on the pharmaceutical industry for Dow Jones Newswires and for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung's English-language service, and has 18 years of reporting experience.
