A series of WAN-Ifra webinars provide virtual workshops on editorial and mobile topics for those in emerging markets.

The weekly webinars are intended for past and present media development project participants, and run between May and September this year. Topics include ‘the future face of mobile and digital advertising’, ‘how to use social media to build an audience,’ ‘newsroom management’, ‘monetising your mobile products,’ and more.

Swedish newspaper executive Gunnar Springfeldt will lead the first webinar, on May 27 at 12 pm CET, covering the new face of mobile and digital advertising. Other trainers include Penny Jones, head of international business development for The Guardian, Assem el Bassal, general Manager of Masrawy Linkonline in Egypt and South African editorial trainer Paula Fray.

Melanie Walker, WAN-Ifra’s head consultant for media development says the organisation is delighted to offer the webinar series to media development participants and others who wish to attend.

“The series offers value-added training to current project participants, and it is an opportunity for ‘graduated’ participants to also tap into our network of media executives and trainers in a convenient, cost efficient way,” she says.

The webinars will be held weekly from 12:00-13:00 GMT
