Spanish commercial and publication printer Altair, part of Impresia Iberica and a member of the European group, Circle Printers, will install the world’s second Goss Sunday 5000 press. The new press is scheduled for shipment to the Altair facility, south of the capital Madrid, at the end of the year.
The new single-web Goss Sunday 5000 press for ALTAIR will comprise four units with a 2860 mm web width, providing the capability to print up to 96 full A4 pages per cylinder revolution.
Using Goss gapless blanket technology, the Sunday 5000 press is free from the vibrations and print disturbances associated with blanket gaps. This allows premium print quality with the wider cylinder configuration at speeds up to 44,500 cylinder revolutions per hour.
Jean Segura, director of sales at Goss International says the order further confirms industry confidence in the company's pioneering superwide web offset technology. "During such a challenging economic period, this is an endorsement of the opportunities available through new technology," he says.
