An update of Newscycle's NewsEditPro software includes improved digital workflow, web editing and search capabilities.
Media product solutions product strategy director Kelli Chmielorz says the digital-first focus of NewsEditPro 2015.1 will offer greater flexibility to quickly author news stories, as well as to increase audience engagement and retention: "This upgrade also includes tools for the end-user to improve the story-writing process and make it more efficient."
Users gain flexibility to post a story to the web prior to print and update the web story as it continues to develop.
A new HTML-enabled web body editor allows users to embed links in stories to related website pages and assets, and is designed to increase audience engagement.
Two features added to the search functionality in the user interface, make it faster and easier to locate assets. The grid and gallery feature allows users to view any search of assets as a gallery (similar to Google images), and multiple search tabs are available to improve the search experience. A separate tab is created for each new search conducted, making it easier to revisit previous searches, for example.
