A ppi Media-based workflow to produce the 230 editions of one of India's most widely-read daily newspapers has gone live at Dainik Jagran.

The publisher decided in February last year to install a system based on ppi's PlanPag, AdPag and AdMan products, and production sites in Bareilly and Moradabad weere the first to go live last month.

The joint project by ppi Media and Dainik Jagran has seen the systems set up at publisher Jagran Prakashan, and a series of training sessions and workshops held.

After a successful run-up, production of the first ten of more than 230 local editions went live, with the project exactly on schedule.

Now the two are working full steam to switch to the new workflow at all the other sites during the next few months. In addition to its daily newspapers, Jagran Prakashan is active in other areas of the media industry. Its publications include daily newspapers MiD-Day, Nai Dunia, Punjabi Jagran and iNext which will also be produced with the ppi Media system.

Demanding key requirements focussed mainly on options for working on editorial content and ads simultaneously, coordinating the placement of content, and centralising newspaper planning, and led to the company's decision to install ppi Media's planning and production software PlanPag, the AdPag and AdMan advertising solutions, and ProPag for automated page assembly, DistEl and InLink.
