Views of a video showing production on an LED-UV-equipped commercial web have surprised Baldwin company AMS Spectral UV.

Facebook claims the smartphone footage of an elderly manroland Octoman at Kyburz Druckerie in Zurich, Switzerland, has been viewed 10,000 times in less than a week.

AMS Spectral shared the video of the recently-installed system last Tuesday, and noted that it had been viewed 6000 times by the end of the week. Today, the meter was standing at more than 10,000.

The company reports "amazing print quality", energy savings of 83 per cent over the unspecified previous system, and record printing speeds.

"We're not sure if it is the speed of the press or the visible quality of the fast-moving web that adds to it's appeal," says the company, "but we are certain that LED-UV curing catches the attention to those looking for more environmentally friendly ways to print."
