A new manroland Colorman newspaper press is running at Rotomadrid in Torrejon de Ardoz, Spain, nine months after the order was placed.
Two machines with four eight-couple satellite towers will produce up products up to 128 colour pages tabloid – including the daily ‘ABC’ – at 40,000 copies per hour. Project manager Ottmar Sauer favoured the nine-cylinder satellite design for its small distances between printing couples. “This guarantees fanout-free printing and an uncompromising degree of register accuracy,” he says.
The latest press complements existing manroland equipment which is to be converted and moved to a new location.
