News Corp’s Sky News is extending its reach into regional Australia with a new deal with Southern Cross Austereo and renewal of an existing one with WIN.
The multi-year agreement will see the Sky programming in 17 SCA markets as well as “select” WIN Network regions from August 1.
Channel 56 in Victoria, Southern NSW and Queensland will broadcast Sky’s take on news, national affairs, weather and sport with programming including AM and Afternoon Agenda, Credlin, The Bolt Report, Alan Jones and Paul Murray Live, plus a live weekday breakfast show.
Sky’s content will appear on WIN’s Channel 53 in Northern NSW and Channel 83 in Griffith, NSW and South Australia, but ‘Sky News on WIN’ will only appear in the Channel 83 markets as ‘Sky News Regional’.
The deal comes as affiliations with national networks are changing, with WIN moving to Nine and SCA to Ten.
