A trusted Goss Magnum press from the US is set for a new role, printing schoolbooks in Cambodia.
The press, with its familiar SSC four-high towers, is being prepared by ImPressions Worldwide at their headquarters in Burlington, Washington, prior to shipment next month “if not sooner”.
A team of technicians, machinists, cleaners and painters has been busy preparing the two-tower 21” (533 mm) cut-off press for shipment following an order in early August.
In addition to the familiar stacked Community-style unit, the press includes a Magnum C-5 folder and two 50” (1270mm) diameter Megtec splicers. ImPressions will fully stage and assemble the press and test it in house, prior to breaking it down and loading it.
The 31.7-tonne press, which ships this week, was part of an insert line acquired by ImPressions. The consignment follows a similar order in 2018, with the customer taking possession at the Cambodia Seaport, with installation to be undertaken by Southeast Asia-based technicians and electricians.
