New AI features have been added to Atex’s developing MyType publishing application.

A new ‘Ask AI’ dashboard directly on the homepage makes it easier to keep up with the flood of news, sources and content tasks.

Atex also presents MyType as an option for newsrooms using WordPress and looking to handle high volumes of content better. MyType’s architecture syncs up to 200,000 content items directly to the user’s browser storage, enabling instant search, filtering and navigation without relying on remote server calls – a ‘local-first’ approach ensures high-speed access and responsiveness.

AI has already been part of MyType for some time, but a new AI-powered homepage dashboard – designed to provide journalists with tools they need, helping them start shaping a story – takes it one step further.

Functionalities include paraphrasing, reframing content in fresh words and styles, and making text more adaptable to a publication’s voice. The summary feature generates instant highlights and concise overviews – perfect for cutting through long documents or background material – while translation converts articles, interviews and press releases into a preferred language in seconds, with reliable accuracy. Raw interviews, audio notes and video recordings can be uploaded with ‘transcription’, and turned into ready-to-edit drafts in just a few minutes.

Atex says MyType’s ‘Ask AI’ dashboard transforms it into a true “Swiss army knife” for journalists – centralising all the essential tools they need to work smarter and faster.

Another new dashboard, Newswires centralises incoming sources, avoides the need to juggle multiple feeds and external tools, keeping newsrooms up-to-date and ready to act. You can directly integrate newswires, eand external websites, monitoring competitors or any online source of interest, bringing their updates straight into your editorial workflow. Press releases can be integrated seamlessly without the need to manually copy, paste or import external files.

The new Newswires panel enables users to receive a continuous stream of selected updated news items, with tools to organise them. They include single-click ‘instant article creation’, and new article generation with MyType drafting the piece, carrying over the wire’s content and tracking the original source. Other features include ‘smart bookmarking’, ‘personalised topic tracking’ and a clear read status’ indication.
