Image-based search feature saves time

The picture you want may be in your database already… if only you knew.

Now AI is being harnessed to find images with attributes not described in their captions.

Peter Resele’s Comyan AI Search has a new ‘visual search’ feature enabling users to search for images that contain no or incomplete metadata.

“People often search for an image with a certain mood – such as drinking coffee in the sunshine, old rusty industrial plants, or a red flower meadow – where such descriptions are rarely found in the caption,” he says.

Classic searches come up empty, but the new AI feature automatically analyses every image and extracts thousands of invisible features. “Simply enter a short description in plain text, and you'll see the matching images in seconds,” he says.

Unlabeled files can also be found easily, searching ‘coral’ plus ‘man’ to deliver this image in which a man is holding coral in his hand.

Visual search is one of several features of Comyan AI Search, which also includes concept search, visual filter, matching images, similar images and ‘tolerant search’

A webinar on Thursday (October 2) at 2:30 pm IST (11 am CEST) provides the opportunity to test the process; more details here.
