Agfa Graphics successor ECO3 has announced global price increases for offset printing plates and chemicals which will “reach double-digit levels”.
The Mortsel, Belgium, headquartered company says exact increases will depend on specific product characteristics.
ECO3 is blaming increases in the cost of aluminium and related treatments and processes.
Says global sales chief Frederik Dehing, “Despite our ongoing internal efficiency efforts, the sharp cost increases in manufacturing make this pricing action unavoidable to ensure sustainable supply and service quality.
“The forces pushing the production cost of offset plates upward are not temporary. They are structural, global, and unlikely to reverse in the foreseeable future”.
The company says customers will be contacted individually “to discuss timing, planning and the expected impact, in full alignment with their contractual framework”.
