Digital deals expand network

A new partnership agreement which will expand the breadth of services and reach for both digital publishing companies sees PressTerra focus on reseller and publisher acquisitions while NewsStand will process publishers’ content and develop the electronic delivery platform. The centrepiece of this partnership will be NewsStand’s eEdition Library which provides subscriber management tools to publishers and resellers. The cooperation allows publishers to make their content available for viewing online, without the possibility of being printed, anywhere in the world, and to restrict those areas where they do not want to be available. Publishers will receive royalties when their content is viewed. Vice president of operations of PressTerra, Ralph Vooys says with fast rising oil prices and rising air cargo rates, solutions “will be more attractive to publishers every day”. NewsStand delivers digital content and delivery solutions to hundreds of magazine and newspaper titles as well as book publishers in more than 120 countries, while PressTerra’s service provides the US Government with digital copies of newspapers. In January, the ‘Washington Post’ began printing for tourists in Jamaica, while Holland’s largest-circulation evening newspaper ‘Dutch Het Parool’ as well as the Italian ‘Il Secolo XIX’ and ‘Libero’ are now printed in Portugal. PressTerra – which started operations in 2006 – has a network of offset and digital print companies producing and distributing ‘exact’ copies around the world. gx
