Quark has packaged tools and its latest software in a pitch to creatives disillusioned with Adobe’s ‘cloud or nothing’ marketing approach.
A nine-month promotion offers Xtensions, fonts and a copy of its version 9 to buyers of QuarkXPress 10 including upgrades.
Included is the Markzware ID2Q XTension, seen as an easy method of converting files from Adobe InDesign, while QuarkXPress 9 enables users to open legacy QuarkXPress files older than version 7.
The other components of the offer are Corel AfterShot Pro, Linotype FontExplorer X Pro and five professional Linotype OpenType Pro fonts.
“There is a huge QuarkXPress fan base out there and we want designers to stay well-equipped,” says Quark Software senior global marketing manager Matthias Gilke.
“Designers now have an affordable option for moving to QuarkXPress 10, which is sold as perpetual licenses with no requirement for ongoing payments.”
Currently users of Adobe's Creative Suite who want the latest software can only source it through the subscription-based Creative Cloud.
