Evening Post Publishing is to use ProImage's NewsWay to manage workflow at the Aiken Standard and of Charleston's Post and Courier.

With a daily circulation of 71,500 (79,600 Sundays) the Post and Courier Charleston plant prints more than 50 publications per month including three daily papers. NewsWay will pick up customers' PDF files, moving them into Intellitune for image processing and Asura for preflighting before RIPping and imposing to plates, manual intervention.

The server-based process controls and manages functionality including production tracking, page and plate approvals, deadline monitoring and priority scheduling. Customers can login remotely, proof and approve their pages, while many routine functions such a photo toning/optimisation, preflighting, ink optimisation and sending proofs are automated.

The Aiken Standard is equipped with NewsWay Blaze, a single box browser based workflow which includes edition planning and tracking, page pairing and real time monitoring. The lighter version suits the smaller production plant in Aiken which prints 12,440 daily (13,710 Sundays) plus 34 publications per month.
