Tim Klappe has been appointed Asia Pacific managing director of prepress and workflow vendor OneVision, following roles with Ferrostaal, Norde and manroland.

A Dutchman who became involved in the market in 1990 as a trainee with Buhrmann Tetterode International - transitioning through EAC Graphics to what is now Heidelberg Korea - he rose to senior vice president of Heidelberg Asia and went on to set up manroland Indonesia and then lead Philippines agency business and HP partner Norde International in Manila. He headed the equipment division of Ferrostaal Equipment Solutions in Jakarta for 16 months before leaving to join OneVision.

His Singapore-based role heading OneVision Software APAC brings his more than 25 years' experience in the region to the company as someone with "a keen interest in optimising printing processes" and the procedures of printing companies.

OneVision Software chief executive Hussein Khalil says the company is pleased to have been able to attract him: "We are convinced that his long experience, comprehensive knowhow about printing processes, and his far-reaching network spanning Asia and the Pacific will prove a genuine asset."

Klappe says his main task will be to increase OneVision's prominence: "In principle, the applications deliver exactly the type of solutions printing companies and publishers are seeking for their prepress and premedia activities to enable them to work with greater efficiency and speed, and in higher quality.

"Unfortunately, that has remained a well-kept secret up to now in the region in and around southeast Asia and Australia. I therefore must and want to change that as soon as possible."
