A neighbouring newspaper publisher in the Swedish lakeside city of Jönköping is improving productivity with Schur's new compact palletiser.

Schur Packaging Systems, which has its factory in nearby Eksjö, will install the system at HerencoPress during spring 2017.

Up to 250,000 daily newspapers are distributed from the company's printing plant in Jönköping, and the new system is being installed to streamline and improve the pallet loading process. The palletiser centres bundles and identifies their orientation, with PC-controlled route handling allowing optimal production planning and follow-up evaluation.

Herenco mailroom manager Björn Ross says the new SCP palletiser offers a higher degree of automation than current equipment: "Through reducing costly man hours, we are able to reach an increased level of cost effectiveness," he says.

"And the geographical proximity of Schur is of course a big plus with regard to availability of service and support."
