Learning from the best at IfraExpo next month

Outstanding examples of applications in practice – setting the scene for an exchange between colleagues from all over the world – will be a particlar distinguishing characteristic of this year's IfraExpo (October 12-15 in Vienna). During the event, three prestigious media prizes will be presented ... membership of the International Newspaper Color Quality Club, and awards in the XMA cross media and World's Best Designed Newspapers competitions. Club members for 2008-2010 in the INCQC benchmarking competition for newspaper printers will be presented at a special exhibition (hall B, stand 475). Final registration date for participating in the INCQC 2010-2012 competition is December 31 December 2009, and Roland Thees, WAN-IFRA research manager newspaper production, will present the benefits of club membership and describe the application process on October 12 and 13. An INCQC tutorial is to be held on Thursday (October 15). The fourth XMA Cross Media Awards reward especially successful examples of publishing on multiple channels (including print, online, mobile and event). This year, in cooperation with the Society for News Design, the focus is on 'Cross-media Design and Branding'. The awards presentationis on October 13. World’s Best-Designed Newspapers has been presented by the Society for News Design since 1979. At IfraExpo current prize winners will be shown in a special exhibition, and SND international director Hans Peter Janisch will present lessons from the winning newspapers at a focus session on October 13.
