A reconfigured M600 commercial press has been kitted out with LED UV drying in a project for a Mauritius-based printing company.
Caractère has ordered the innovative Goss press from GWS Printing Systems, with the LED UV drying station eliminating the need for a traditional dryer.
Caractère produces high-quality magazines and commercial work on the island, with the new M600 bringing an immediate increase in production capacity in an ecological manner.
Eric van Kessel, commercial director of GWS - which is now part of manroland Goss - says the decision to equip the press with LED-UV was the result of a long and detailed study with Caractère and AMS Spectral UV. "We are convinced that this unique press layout will serve Caractère well and will enable it to produce a completely new range of products in an environmentally-friendly way.'
La Sentinelle director of projects Hossen Goburdhun says the press was fully reconditioned and its entire control system upgraded at GWS with specialists from Dovak France."It's ready for quality printing at our print operation."
Installation the Goss M600 in a four-unit configuration will commence in June 2019 with first production set for this summer.
Caractère is a subsidiary of La Sentinelle Group and one of the major printing companies in the Indian Ocean since 1997, its savoir-faire and top-notch quality have been trusted by major local and regional customers.
