Constellation Software subsidiary Aquila – which owns Atex – has bought German content distribution and media library platform Media Carrier Solutions.

Founded in 2011 and now a leader in global digital media, MCS provides the Media Box digital library to airlines including Lufthansa, LOT Polish Airlines and American Airlines, as well as hotels, airports, and companies from the mobility, health, and fitness sectors.

Its curated, multilingual digital library platform – currently host to more than 1600 newspapers, magazines and travel guide, and podcasts in more than 40 languages – is seen as a cost-saving, eco-friendly alternative to print media with seamless white-label integration for its corporate and public sector customers.

Managing director Sandra Bardewyck says Aquila will be “a reliable thought partner” for its team, customers and other stakeholders.

Aquila portfolio manager Federico Marturano said the acquisition was “a significant win” in Germany and the DACH region.
