Goss responds to pressure with big DRUPA presence

Goss International says it will have a “major presence” at this year’s DRUPA trade show, with an 1820 m2 stand linked to that of parent Shanghai Electric.

It will feature the Colorliner CPS compact-tower newspaper press, 96-page Sunday 5000 commercial web and new Sunday Vpak packaging press.

President and chief executive president Jochen Meissner says DRUPA is “the one place” where suppliers can showcase new technology for a worldwide audience and where printers and publishers can evaluate a globally diverse range of solutions.

“Regional shows and events remain important, but having this truly international show is vital for our industry."

Goss’s 1820 m2 stand in Hall 17 will present commercial and newspaper printing and finishing systems as well as its new web offset presses for packaging, with SEG exhibiting a range of printing technologies at an adjacent stand.

"We have a history of introducing groundbreaking Goss technologies at DRUPA and we will continue that tradition,” says Meissner. "Beyond the introduction of specific technologies, our presence at the show will convey our long-term perspective and our focus on actively exploring new concepts with our customers."

He anticipates that attendees will arrive at this year's show questioning conventional definitions of which printing processes produce which products, and believes printers and publishers will want to know how they can use different processes - or combinations of processes - to provide their customers with more powerful and cost-effective printed products.

"The long-term value and effectiveness of print are not in question, but pressures to stay competitive and profitable are intensifying in every sector," says Meissner. "By collaborating with a strong, visionary supplier and by replacing outdated equipment with advanced web offset solutions, printers can address those pressures and take significant cost, time and inefficiency out of their workflows."
