KBA took the opportunity to celebrate its tenth anniversary in Asia during two events during a roadshow in Singapore.
At a gathering in the German Centre in Singapore – where KBA Asia Pacific has had its offices since 2006 – managing director Stefan Segger welcomed representatives from the parent group’s newspaper and sheetfed branches, and traced the local company’s history.
“KBA Asia Pacific Singapore has expanded again in 2012 and will be returning the best result ever in our ten-year history, while our competitors are restructuring and drastically streamlining their operations,” he says.
Group sales director Dietmar Heyduck told guests KBA was the only major press manufacturer to have weathered recent years of financial and economic crisis with a positive bottom line. Jürgen Veil – who is KBA head of sheetfed marketing, but for many simply ‘Mr Roadshow’ – explained innovative technologies including a new generation of energy-optimised UV dryers the company is manufacturing inhouse.
A social evening provided a taste of traditional German cuisine, beers and wines.
The roadshows have become something of an institution in Asia, and will continue in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
