Former PANPA chief executive Alan Armsden says the “could be another gig” to follow his role as managing editor of the Herald and Weekly Times.
Armsden announced his resignation this week and will leave the News Limited division on March 29.
His departure is a further milestone in a 40-year career which began as a copy boy at Melbourne’s Truth in 1970 and included a stint as its editor.
He has also worked at The Sun and The Times in London, with publishers including The Standard in Hong Kong, and as managing director of Mirror Publications.
He was chief executive of PANPA for 18 months from 2004.
He told The Newspaper Works’ News Now he had resigned but not retired: “
I’ve got a lot of energy – who knows, there could be another gig.”
