Gannett president and chief executive Gracia Martore has joined the programme for the World Newspaper Congress, being held in Bangkok from June 2-5.
She joins a programme of leading news media executives at the event, being held in conjunction with the World Editors Forum and World Advertising Forum. More than 1200 participants are expected.
Martore – Gannett chief executive since October 2011 – has overseen implementation of an all-access content subscription model for the company’s US community publishing sites, the redesign of the now 30-year-old USA Today, and launched a new digital strategy to leverage relationships with consumers and advertisers. The company owns 81 daily publications and 23 television stations.

An Info Services Expo will present solutions from international suppliers, and the events are accompanied by social programme including gala dinners and lunches.
