Australia’s SBS television revisits a favourite subject with a documentary on Rupert Murdoch next month.
‘Murdoch’ screens in two parts, on Sundays May 5 and 12 from 8.30-9.30pm.
Last year a joint production with Canadian Broadcasting Corporation fronted by Frontline correspondent Lowell Bergman told the story of phone hacking, bribery and issues over the future of News Corporation in ‘Murdoch’s Scandal’.
This time, SBS promises a “definitive account of how one man took control of the media and became one of the wealthiest, most powerful and feared figures in the world” and assures viewers it “pulls no punches as it delivers the complete inside story” of the man and the empire which started with the Adelaide News and now includes newspapers in Australia, the UK and USA, plus major film and TV interests.
