Li Hongxin of Sun Paper is the first two-time winner of RISI’s 2013 Asian ‘chief executive of the year’ award.
The forest products industry information provider will make the presentation at its 14th annual Asian Pulp and Paper Conference in Shanghai in June.
Respondents to a survey – including investment analysts and portfolio managers covering the forest products industry – selected Li for leadership, vision and strategic accomplishments. One analyst commented, “Sun Paper has good practice on forest-pulp-paper integration, which is essential for the company’s further development. Also, the company has sufficient liquidity and the chairman is far sighted.”
Li is the founder, chairman of board and general manager of Shandong Sun Paper. He was named RISI’s Asian CEO of the Year in 2010 and has garnered numerous accolades and awards, including president of honour for the Paper Industry Chamber of Commerce within the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, member of 11th CPPC of Shandong province, and vice chairman of Shandong Federation of Industry and Commerce.
He was also named National Model Worker, one of the top 10 ‘finance stars of Shandong’ in 2007, one of the 60 ‘most respected enterprisers’ at 60th Anniversary of Republic, 1st Batch of Chinese Confucian Businessmen, Enterpriser of Highest Social Responsibility for Circular Economy of Shandong, and one of the Top 10 Confucian Businessmen at Homeland of Confucius and Mencius.
