New SEANG group tees-off

Golf and a gala dinner at the home of co-organiser Stephan Peters opened the first south East Asia Newspaper Group get-together in Bangkok on Monday night. Speakers from Europe and Australia join locals in the inaugural meeting at the Chaophya Park Hotel on Tuesday for a programme which covers a range of technical topics as well as discussion on the form the press group may take in the future. Among thems is Jan Jungmann from Conti Germany, and an Australian contingent including Terry Brissett (Brissett Rollers, Sydney), Steve Packham (DIC Australia), James Haisman (QI Press Controls, Melbourne) and Peter Coleman, managing editor of gxpress.net, which is a media sponsor. The aim is to create a new group which can share knowledge of press technology and management issues and foster personal development among newspaper print sites in the South East Asian region and senior production management from newspapers in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia are taking part.
