Press controls on Goss Universal 70 at the Warrendale Tribune Review are to be updated by Harland Simon.
The Pennsylvania plant – part of Trib Total Media – was facing increased production demands and lack of component availability. Harland Simon will replace on-unit ink, damp and registration controls as well as desk upgrades, starting with replacement of the Rockwell MPU by a PC-based system, delivering the ability to preset current inker controls.
A second phase will see Rockwell ink/registration modules replaced with a multiplexor and control circuits, and replacment of the damp controller, both using ethernet to the new PC and desk console screens.
The upgrade follows others on Goss Universal presses in North America, Europe and around the world.
