Thailand will have its own pavilion at Indoprint this year, joining newcomer Italy and country groups from Austria, China, Germany, Taiwan and Singapore.

The event – colocated with Indoplas and Indopack (incorporating Indoprocess) will be held from September 3-6. It is organised jointly by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and local partner Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI).

Some 60 per cent of exhibitor participation will come from overseas, with Heidelberg, KBA and Kolbus among those who have reserved space so far. Organisers say about half of floor space at JI Expo (Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran) with an additional hall already planned. About 400 international exhibitors are expected from more than 20 countries.

Participation from Indonesia’s most competitive market leaders include Best Ink, Maxipro, Digital Prima Imaging, Digital Visual Teknologi, Eka Maju Mesinindo, Growtech Anugerah Lestari, Illies Engineering Indonesia, Indokarta Printmate, Master Label, Mimaki Indonesia, Panji Media Pratama, Rieckermann Indonesia, Sansin Indonesia, Tosi Jasindo and Tunas Mitra Sukses.

WAKENI director Rini Sumardi says the robust internationality of the exhibitors together with the increased participation of Indonesian suppliers reflects the potential of Indonesia: “The three trade fairs are an ideal platform to penetrate the market or strengthen presence in Indonesia’s plastics, packaging and printing industries,”

she says.

“Indonesia is in need of more sophisticated and innovative technology materials, driven by rapid expansion of the middle class, demand for infrastructure and property development and its large manufacturing base as well as strong resources industry.”

Managing director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia Gernot Ringling says Indonesia has vast potential and is increasingly growing as a highly attractive Southeast Asian market: “With population of 242 million, Indonesia is projected to be the seventh largest economy in the world by 2030.”

He says organisers are aiming for 25,000 trade visitors to this year’s shows. In 2012, some 253 exhibitors from 19 countries showed product developments to more than 17,000 visitors.
