The world’s largest Goss Magnum 4 installation has gone into production at ‘Nanfang Daily’ in Guangzhou, China. The 22-tower, eight-folder line at the group’s new Nanhai printing centre is also the first single-width newspaper press configuration in China capable of running up to ten webs into a single folder. Nanfang Daily group has installed various Goss presses over the past two decades, including double-width Newsliner systems and single-width Universal, Urbanite, Community SSC and Magnum presses. In 2006, the group invested in four Magnum 4 presses to print its flagship daily newspaper, the ‘Nanfang Daily’, at its state-of-the-art facility in Guangzhou. General manager Guangming Zhong says the 40,000 cph single-width presses give great flexibility in handling different contract printing jobs and large or small circulation papers.
