Botnia upgrades mailroom to improve processes

An extended Ferag inserting system is helping Botnia Print in Finland handle circulations between 1000 and several million copies.

The company started with RollSertDrum and StreamStitch technology, and is now replacing a three-knife trimmer with an SNT-50 trimming drum. The change frees up floorspace and eliminates the “conceptual compromises” of a system which included two inserting lines featuring RollStream and MultiDisc periphery, a StreamStitch and four MultiStack units.

Managing director Hannu Salmi says top quality is a key customer demand, especially in the commercial segment: “This demand can only be met with the right technology in postpress processing.”

A StreamFold quarterfold line has also been added, with the concept combining different processes into a complete system.
