manroland will focus on recent successes in digital print finishing in its presentations at America’s GraphExpo trade show.
It will highlight the “industrial-scale” FoldLine and FormerLine products alongside heatset and newspaper solutions.
North American chief executive Greg Blue (right) says innovation and profitability will be to the fore: “We have the fastest, highest quality, most efficient web offset printing, folding and workflow technologies on the market,” he says.
FoldLine options include variable broadsheet and tabloid sections and page numbers, digitally recreating conventional offset products. Web widths enable up to eight pages, and asymmetric production with partial-width webs is also possible.
manroland’s FormerLine product is aimed at the production of variable book signatures as well as glued book-block finishing.
The company’s first Colorman e:line newspaper press is now production at Allgaeuer Zeitung in Kempten, Germany, where it delivers eight regional editions daily. On the commercial front, the focus will be on the price-to-performance ratio of the Rotoman HiPrint and flexibility of the 32-page Lithoman.
Inkjet imprinting and ‘three-around’ press conversions are also topics for discussion, along with a variety of upgrade options.
“Establishing superior pressroom fundamentals is the key to operational excellence,” says Blue, “What differentiates our approach is our ability and willingness to come up with the most cost-effective plan, whether long-term or short-term, that makes the most sense for each company’s business.”
