Swedish mail utility Posten Meddelande is expanding extending automated inserting following a two-year trial.
A first Ferag EasySert line was commissioned in Alvesta in 2012, with two identical lines following at a new distribution centre in Hallsberg a year later.
A third phase now underway will see two more lines commissioned in a new building in Rosersberg between now and March.
The investment in buildings as well as modern Ferag production technology is part of Posten Meddelande’s redefined location policy, which has focussed letter post and direct mail processing at eight distribution centres since January. Commissioning of the Rosersberg centre will enable this to be reduced to seven.
Project manager Désirée Roxberger says opimising production is ultimately a response to increased competition from electronic media. “Printed advertising is still a comparatively simple, inexpensive and effective way to be sure of reaching the target audience,” she says.
